Farmers in Banke district are concerned after an infection appeared in paddy fields as the crop reached the fruiting stage, with affected plants suddenly beginning to dry up.
Ammar Budhathoki, a farmer from Duduwa Rural Municipality-5, said small brown and green, water-soaked spots had appeared on the leaves. He said the spots spread as the infection advanced, eventually causing the plants to dry. The reported infection in Banke’s paddy fields has raised concerns among farmers in the area.
