Dilliram Subedi, a youth leader of the Nepali Congress and a member of the Gandaki Province Assembly, has announced his candidacy for the party’s general secretary post at its 15th general convention. He filed his nomination for the open position on Tuesday, as registration began for candidates seeking to lead the party.
Subedi described his candidacy as an effort to connect the party’s older and newer generations. He said the transition between generations should be a bridge, not a wall, as the Nepali Congress enters a phase of generational change.
Candidates for general secretary
According to Gorkhapatra Online, Subedi, Khatiwada and Shivakoti have filed candidacies for the general secretary post.
In a report on his position on generational change, Nepal Press quoted Subedi’s view that change should neither displace the older generation nor prevent the new generation from taking part.
