The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has urged people who were allegedly defrauded through promises of caregiver jobs in Israel to come forward and register complaints. The reported fraud amount exceeds Rs 25 million.
According to the CIB, a group allegedly used fake documents to cheat people who had passed a test for caregiver employment in Israel two years ago and were waiting for placement. The victims were targeted while facing stress and uncertainty over their job prospects, the bureau said.
CIB calls on victims to file complaints
The bureau has asked people affected by the alleged scheme to contact it and formally register their complaints. The CIB is investigating allegations that the group used false documents and promises of overseas employment to obtain money from people on the waiting list.
The alleged fraud involved more than Rs 25 million, according to reports on the case.
