The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested Ganesh Shrestha, a fugitive convict serving an 18-year prison sentence in a rape case. He was arrested in Samakhushi, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26.
Shrestha, 38, is from Siddhalek Rural Municipality-3 in Dhading. According to CIB spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Anupam Shamsher JBR, he had escaped from central jail during the Gen Z movement.
Arrest in Kathmandu
CIB officials arrested Shrestha in Samakhushi as part of efforts to locate the escaped convict. He had been sentenced to 18 years in prison in the rape case.
