Businesspeople and industrialists from Chitwan have urged action to protect Narayangadh market and nearby areas from erosion and flooding caused by the Narayani River. A delegation met Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane to call for measures to control the river.
Led by association president Chiranjivi Suvedi, the delegation sought both immediate protection measures, including embankment construction, and a long-term plan for managing the river.
Calls for immediate and long-term measures
The business representatives warned that erosion and flooding from the Narayani River have put Narayangadh market and surrounding areas at risk. They urged authorities to address the threat through immediate intervention as well as sustained river management.
