Campaign Materials Displayed at Nepali Congress Convention Despite Code of Conduct

Campaign materials have been displayed around the venue of the Nepali Congress 15th General Convention in Kathmandu, despite an election committee code of conduct prohibiting them in the area.

Flexes, banners, posters and pamphlets were seen on poles and on the ground around the convention venue. Photographs from the area show the materials displayed within the convention surroundings.

Code of conduct prohibits printed campaign materials

The election committee’s code of conduct bars candidates and their supporters from placing, pasting or distributing printed campaign materials at or around the convention venue.

The materials seen in the convention area include:

  • Flexes and banners
  • Posters
  • Pamphlets

The display of these materials runs counter to the restriction set out in the code of conduct.
