Birtamod Mayor, Deputy Seek CIAA Probe Into 51-Bigha Bus Park Land Dispute

Birtamod Mayor Pavitra and the deputy mayor have called on the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to intervene seriously in a dispute involving 51 bighas of land at the town’s new bus park in Jhapa.

The dispute has affected around 400 households, according to reports. The demand for an investigation was raised during a discussion held in Birtamod, which Mayor Pavitra attended.

Dispute draws wider attention

The land dispute, along with a related stadium dispute, has drawn attention as an issue involving infrastructure, local politics and the economy. The mayor and deputy mayor have asked the anti-graft authority to examine the matter.

The dispute concerns land at Birtamod’s new bus park and affects households in the area.
