The Bagmati Province government has decided to build seven bridges in flood-affected areas of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts to restore transport links. The plan includes five suspension bridges and two Bailey bridges.
A provincial cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Hetauda approved the construction plan, according to province government spokesperson and Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Bharat Bahadur KC.
Bridge construction plan
Of the five suspension bridges, three will be built in Nuwakot and two in Rasuwa. The government also plans to construct two Bailey bridges in the affected areas.
The decision follows flooding that disrupted transport links in parts of the two districts.
