Armed Police Seize Around 120,000 Smuggled Excise Stickers in Rautahat

Armed Police Force Nepal seized around 120,000 excise stickers suspected of being smuggled into Nepal from India in Rautahat on Friday. The stickers were found abandoned in the Tejapakad area of Paroha Municipality-3.

A team from the Armed Police Force’s BOP Sarmujwa took the stickers into custody and sent them to the Internal Revenue Office in Simara for necessary action.

Excise sticker seizure raises security concerns

The seizure has prompted questions about the security and supply system for government excise stickers, as well as the possibility that they could be misused.

Excise stickers are used by the government, and the discovery of a large quantity of them in an area near the India border has raised concerns about how such stickers are secured and monitored. The circumstances surrounding the abandoned stickers were not detailed in the information provided.
