Amlekhgunj-Lothar Petroleum Pipeline Construction Accelerates as EIA Nears Completion

Construction of the Amlekhgunj-Lothar petroleum pipeline, a national priority project, has accelerated in Lothar, Rapti Municipality-1, Chitwan. Land filling and construction of an outer wall are underway at the site, while the project's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has reached its final stage.

A greenfield terminal with modern facilities is planned on about 23 bigha and 12 kattha of land in Lothar. A pipeline roughly 62 kilometres long and 10.75 inches in diameter will connect Amlekhgunj to Lothar, running parallel to the East-West Highway.

The ongoing land filling and outer wall construction are part of work at the planned terminal site. The facility is intended to include modern infrastructure, according to reports on the project.
