The Nepal Oil Corporation's Amlekhgunj Depot in Bara has moved to a fully automated system, cutting fuel tanker loading work that previously took hours to about 10 minutes.
The change is expected to ease long queues and delays at the depot, where tankers load diesel and petrol. A report by Ratopati described the shift to automation.
Tanker drivers faced hours of waiting
Motilal Yadav, a petroleum tanker driver from Birgunj, said he used to arrive at the depot early in the morning and wait for hours in line to load fuel.
Yadav has driven the Baruni-Kathmandu and Amlekhgunj-Kathmandu routes for 30 years. The new system is expected to reduce the time tankers spend waiting and loading at the depot.
