Prime Minister Balendra Shah said 5,737 families across Nepal have so far received land ownership registration certificates, known as lalpurja.
In a Facebook post, Shah said resolving land-related problems is a government priority. He reiterated the commitment to settle the problems faced by landless squatters within 1,000 days.
Government moves to address long-standing land issues
The government is moving ahead with a new working procedure to address long-unresolved problems involving landless people, squatters and unorganised settlers.
Shah’s statement comes as the government says it is working to resolve land issues affecting families across the country.
