CPN (UML) Secretary Mahesh Basnet said rising inflation has disrupted the daily lives of ordinary people, adding to their financial burden as major festivals approach.
Speaking at a program organized by the CPN (UML) Bagmati Province Committee in Kathmandu, Basnet claimed that food prices have increased by more than 200 percent. He said growing costs are making it harder for the general public to manage everyday expenses.
Inflation adds pressure ahead of festivals
Basnet said the impact of rising prices is especially concerning as Dashain, Tihar and Chhath approach. The festivals are a period of additional spending for households, placing further pressure on people already affected by inflation.
His remarks focused on the effect of rising prices on ordinary people and their ability to meet daily needs and festival expenses.
