CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa called the government’s conduct “fascist rule” during a House of Representatives meeting on Friday, criticising its performance over the past six months.
Thapa said the government’s six-month tenure began with the illegal arrest of a former prime minister and continued with what he described as a drama involving a former chief justice.
Thapa urges return to democracy
Thapa urged the government to abandon what he called a path toward fascism and return to democracy. He also called on it to be accountable to Parliament and the people and to fully restore democracy.
His remarks focused on the government’s conduct during its first six months in office.
