US President Donald Trump said the United States withdrew its bombers from Royal Air Force Fairford in the United Kingdom because of “some threats” to the base.
Speaking to reporters on Monday as he departed for Nebraska, Trump said the US had known about a threat that led to the move. The Pentagon confirmed on Sunday that the bombers had been pulled from the base and returned to their home stations in the United States.

The aircraft were thought to include about a dozen B-1 bombers. The Pentagon confirmed their departure but did not provide further details in the information available.
Trump’s remarks linked the withdrawal to a security threat at RAF Fairford, where the US bombers had been based.
