Silver Triangle Tourism Circuit Links Pokhara, Bharatpur and Lumbini

Pokhara Metropolitan City in Kaski, Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan and Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality in Rupandehi have launched the Silver Triangle tourism circuit, a joint initiative intended to promote tourism across the three destinations, attract more visitors and strengthen cooperation among the local governments. The scheme links the three municipalities in a shared tourism effort, with the partners also aiming to exchange good practices and pursue mutual cooperation.

Three local governments join forces

The Silver Triangle brings together three local governments from different districts under a common tourism initiative. Rather than working only on their own promotion, Pokhara, Bharatpur and Lumbini Sanskritik are seeking to coordinate their efforts and present the destinations as parts of a connected circuit. The participating authorities have identified tourism promotion, inter-city cooperation and visitor attraction as central goals of the scheme.

The partnership is also intended to create space for the municipalities to learn from one another. The three governments have said they will exchange good practices, alongside pursuing cooperation on matters of shared interest. The initiative therefore combines destination promotion with collaboration between local authorities, giving the circuit both a tourism focus and an inter-city dimension.

Each partner represents a distinct municipal area: Pokhara Metropolitan City is in Kaski, Bharatpur Metropolitan City is in Chitwan, and Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality is in Rupandehi. Their joint work places the three local governments in a single framework for tourism promotion. The announcement describes a shared initiative, rather than a project run by only one of the municipalities.

Focus on promotion and visitor attraction

A key purpose of the circuit is to promote tourism and attract more visitors to the linked destinations. By acting together, the municipalities aim to strengthen the profile of the three places through a common initiative. The plan also reflects an effort to build cooperation across municipal boundaries, with the partners working toward a shared tourism objective.

The initiative's stated aims include both attracting visitors and strengthening ties between the participating cities. That combination makes local-government cooperation part of the circuit's design: the municipalities are not only seeking to promote tourism, but also to share practices and pursue mutual collaboration. The participating authorities have presented these goals as linked parts of the Silver Triangle effort.

The launch establishes the circuit as a joint undertaking among Pokhara Metropolitan City, Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality. Its central premise is that the three local governments can work together to advance tourism promotion while exchanging knowledge and good practices. The scheme thus creates a shared platform for cooperation across Kaski, Chitwan and Rupandehi.

A shared framework for further cooperation

The Silver Triangle's announced objectives provide the partners with a common basis for working together. Tourism promotion and visitor attraction are the outward-facing goals, while the exchange of good practices and mutual cooperation address how the local governments intend to collaborate. Together, these aims define the initiative as a coordinated effort by the three municipalities.

The launch also signals a commitment by the participating local governments to pursue tourism development collectively. Pokhara, Bharatpur and Lumbini Sanskritik are joining their efforts under one named circuit, with the stated intention of promoting tourism and strengthening inter-city links. The initiative's progress will depend on continued cooperation among the three partners as they work toward those shared aims.
