Russian President Vladimir Putin said there is “very big potential” for economic cooperation between Russia and India, adding that opportunities extend well beyond logistics. He also expressed Moscow’s strong intent to work with New Delhi on developing major international transit and shipping corridors.

Putin made the remarks on Thursday while speaking about the development of global transport routes. His comments highlighted Russia’s interest in cooperation with India on transport links as well as broader economic ties.

Focus on transit and shipping corridors

Putin said Russia wants to partner with India in developing major international corridors for transit and shipping. He did not limit the potential for cooperation to logistics, describing the prospects for wider economic engagement as substantial.

The remarks underscore Moscow’s stated interest in working with New Delhi as global transport routes develop.
