Vehicular movement on the Prithvi Highway has been fully halted after a section of the road collapsed at Galudi in Gajuri Rural Municipality-5, Dhading. The Trishuli River eroded the roadside section, leaving the highway completely obstructed.
The District Administration Office, Dhading, said traffic was stopped from Friday evening until further notice to prevent possible accidents. A police team has been deployed to the site.
Road collapse leaves highway impassable
Chief District Officer Lakshmi Pandey (Gautam) said the collapse has completely blocked the highway. Superintendent of Police Sumit Khadka said a large portion of the road fell toward the Trishuli River.
Khadka described the damaged section as posing a risk comparable to the Krishnabhir stretch of the Nagdhunga-Naubise road. Authorities have halted traffic as a precaution while the situation remains hazardous.
