Hindus across Nepal observed the final day of Pitru Paksha on Ashwin Krishna Aunsi, concluding the fortnight of ancestral rites with Shodasha Shraddha. Tarpan, sida-daan and pinda-daan were performed in the afternoon in memory of deceased ancestors.
The observances began on Ashwin Krishna Pratipada and ended on the new moon day, Ashwin Krishna Aunsi. The Bada Dashain festival begins the following day.

Shodasha Shraddha marks the conclusion of the period dedicated to remembering and honouring ancestors. On Ashwin Krishna Aunsi, devotees performed the rites to pay tribute to deceased family members.
