The National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) and Thailand’s Save Elephant Foundation (SEF) have signed a three-year strategic memorandum of understanding to address human-elephant conflict and promote coexistence.
The agreement was signed in Kathmandu on 5 October 2026. Its signing was initiated by Forest Minister and NTNC Chairperson Gita Chaudhary.
A partnership for human-elephant coexistence
The pact aims to support long-term solutions to human-elephant conflict. NTNC operates under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment, while SEF is based in Thailand.
The three-year agreement establishes a strategic partnership between the two organizations focused on managing conflict and promoting coexistence between people and elephants.
