Nepal’s stock market benchmark, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, fell below 2,600 points on Wednesday after recording its third consecutive daily decline. The index dropped 4.82 points to close at 2,598.89, its first close below the 2,600 mark since Bhadra 29, according to Nepal Stock Exchange data.
The decline followed losses of 16.47 points on Monday and 9.62 points on Tuesday. Wednesday’s trading turnover exceeded Rs 4.76 billion. The index recovered slightly on Thursday, the final trading day of the week, gaining 0.26 points to close at 2,599.15, with turnover of more than Rs 4.89 billion.
NEPSE market performance
Alongside the benchmark index, other key market indicators also declined on Wednesday:
- The Sensitive index fell 2.02 points to 464.63.
- The Float index dropped 0.43 points to 179.02.
