The Nepali Congress election committee expects to make public the full results of the central committee vote count from the party’s 15th General Convention by this evening, October 15, after completing the count for several senior positions and continuing work on the remaining posts. Election committee member-secretary Raju Katuwal told the Congress Media Center that results for all positions would be completed by this evening.
Counting continues for remaining positions
The count for the posts of party president, vice-president and general secretary has already been completed, according to the information provided by the election committee. Counting remains under way for deputy general secretaries and central committee members, with the committee aiming to finish the work and release the complete results within the stated timeframe.
The announcement means the outcome for the remaining positions is still pending. The committee has not yet made public the full list of winners for those posts, and no names or vote totals for the completed positions were included in the update. The results expected this evening will cover all positions in the central committee vote, Katuwal said.
The election committee’s update was conveyed to the Congress Media Center, which is providing information about the convention. Its stated expectation is that the counting process will be completed and the results made public by the end of the day. Until then, the count for deputy general secretaries and central members remains in progress.
What has been counted so far
The process has reached different stages across the positions. Counting is complete for three top party offices:
- Party president
- Vice-president
- General secretary
The committee is still counting votes for deputy general secretaries and central committee members. Those remaining counts are the outstanding work before it can publish the full set of results.
The election committee’s timeline concerns the completion and publication of results for all positions, rather than only the offices whose votes have already been counted. The committee has not indicated in the update whether the remaining count is close to completion, nor has it provided separate deadlines for individual posts.
Full result announcement awaited
The 15th General Convention central committee results are therefore expected in stages only in the sense that counting for some offices has been completed while other counts continue; the complete outcome is still awaited. The election committee has given this evening as its target for finishing the process and making all results public.
The update does not identify which candidates have won the completed contests or provide vote margins. Those details, along with the outcomes for deputy general secretaries and central members, are expected to be part of the full announcement. Until the committee releases that information, the available update confirms the status of the count and its expected completion time, but not the winners.
For party members and others following the convention, the next key development is the publication of the complete results. The election committee’s assurance is that counting across all positions will be completed by this evening, bringing the central committee vote count to a close and allowing the full results to be made public.
