Information and Communications Minister Dr Vikram Timilsina held a courtesy meeting with Isabelle Lois, senior policy adviser at Switzerland’s Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM), in Kathmandu on 7 October 2026. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation and support in information and communications technology between Nepal and Switzerland.
Timilsina thanked the Swiss government for its assistance in various sectors and expressed Nepal’s interest in collaborating on digital transformation. Lois also invited Nepal to take part in the AI Global Summit.
Nepal expresses interest in digital transformation cooperation
The meeting focused on strengthening Nepal-Switzerland collaboration in information and communications technology. Timilsina conveyed Nepal’s interest in working with Switzerland on digital transformation and acknowledged the Swiss government’s support across various sectors.
Invitation to the AI Global Summit
During the meeting, Lois extended an invitation to Nepal to participate in the AI Global Summit.
