The Supreme Court of Nepal on Friday rejected a habeas corpus petition seeking the release of Inam Sapkota, who was arrested over alleged suspicious activities linked to former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
A joint bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Sunil Kumar Pokharel dismissed the petition filed by Sapkota's wife, Kabita Pandey. The petition, filed on Ashoj 16, had argued that Sapkota was being detained illegally and sought his immediate release.
Investigation into Inam Sapkota
Investigations into money laundering allegations against Sapkota are ongoing. The allegations have not been established by the court.
