More Than 800 Historical Nepali Documents Returned from German Collection

More than 800 historical Nepali documents dating from the 13th to the 20th century have been returned to Nepal from the private collection of German national Josef Peter Rindfleisch.

Professor Axel Michaels jointly handed over the documents to Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal. Nepal’s National Archives in Kathmandu received the collection on October 2.

Historical documents return to Nepal

The returned collection spans several centuries of Nepali history, with documents dating from the 13th through the 20th century. The materials had been held in Rindfleisch’s private collection in Germany.
