Foreign Minister Shishir Khinal has called on the global community to turn climate justice from rhetoric into practice, urging the adoption of new, predictable and accessible measures to make it a reality.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Kathmandu Climate Week 2026 in Kathmandu, Khinal said Nepal had been raising its voice strongly for climate justice on the world stage. He urged the international community to take practical steps rather than allow the issue to remain limited to slogans.
Call for practical climate justice measures
Khinal said climate justice needed to be backed by measures that are accessible and predictable. His appeal focused on translating calls for fairness into action by the international community.
He also emphasized Nepal’s continued advocacy for climate justice in global forums.
