Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were arrested in New Delhi on October 10, 2026, while heading to a protest at Jantar Mantar, according to a report by Pradesh Khabar.
The demonstration was organized against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was reportedly taken into custody along with party leaders as they moved toward the protest site.
Arrests during protest march
Banerjee and Kejriwal were on their way to join the demonstration when police took them into custody. The protest was planned at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
The report said Kejriwal was accompanied by AAP leaders as the group made its way toward the venue.
