South African batter Luan-dre Pretorius has set a new record for the highest individual score in men’s T20 cricket, surpassing Chris Gayle’s long-standing mark of 175 runs.
The 20-year-old scored an unbeaten 188 off 79 balls for the Titans against the Knights in the CSA T20 Challenge in Bloemfontein. His innings included 15 fours and 13 sixes.
Pretorius surpasses Gayle’s record
Gayle’s 175 had stood as the highest individual score in men’s T20 cricket. Pretorius moved past that mark with his 188 not out, producing a record-breaking innings in the Titans’ match against the Knights.
