Japan’s unemployment rate rose to 2.5% in August, up from 2.4% in July, according to government data. It was the first increase in the jobless rate in five months.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said the number of employed people increased by 30,000 from the previous month to a seasonally adjusted 68.34 million.
