Japan will provide Nepal with grant assistance of ¥2.8533 billion, equivalent to approximately NPR 2.73 billion, to strengthen the air traffic control system at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
The funding will support construction of a new air traffic control (ATC) tower at the airport. The grant agreement was reported on October 8, 2026.

The Japanese government’s grant is intended to strengthen the airport’s air traffic control system through construction of the new tower. Tribhuvan International Airport is located in Kathmandu.
