India has rejected Elon Musk’s allegation that it is blocking the entry of Starlink, his satellite-based internet service. New Delhi’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) said the country’s regulatory framework for telecommunications services is fair and non-discriminatory.
Musk claimed on Wednesday on X that a “privileged class” in India was obstructing Starlink’s entry to protect its monopoly. He said the service was being blocked to maintain a monopoly over the Indian people.

Musk’s allegation focused on Starlink’s entry into India, but the PIB’s response did not provide further details about the service’s entry.
