Imported passenger car sales in South Korea rose 6.3% in September compared with the same month a year earlier, according to industry data. Strong demand for electric vehicles and luxury cars manufactured in Germany helped drive the increase.

Electric vehicles account for more than half of sales

Electric vehicles made up 52.1% of imported passenger car sales in September, highlighting their leading share of the market during the month.

Demand for German-made luxury cars also contributed to the rise in imported vehicle sales.
