Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa said on Saturday that individuals must take responsibility for clearing the stain of any personal wrongdoing, adding that the party should not bear the burden of an individual’s actions.
Thapa said party workers should not come forward to defend the party president if he is stained by irregularities. He also said no one should expect others to step in on their behalf if they are arrested.
Thapa calls for personal accountability
Thapa’s remarks stressed that responsibility for personal wrongdoing rests with the individual concerned. He said the party should not be expected to defend or carry the burden of a person facing such allegations.
He added that party workers should not defend the president if the president himself is implicated in irregularities.
