Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal returned home on Saturday after attending the high-level Pre-COP Leaders Event on climate change in Fiji and Tuvalu. He also held official engagements in Australia during the visit, according to reports from Kathmandu.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted progress in raising Nepal's climate agenda internationally, including its calls for climate justice and the “from Sagarmatha to the sea” agenda.
Nepal's climate agenda ahead of COP-31
The visit took place ahead of the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP-31, scheduled to be held in Antalya, Turkey, in November. The Ministry highlighted the internationalisation of Nepal's climate priorities as part of its engagement ahead of the conference.
