Socialist International General Secretary Chantal Kambire arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday to attend the opening ceremony of the Nepali Congress 15th general convention, which begins on October 4, or 18 Ashoj.
During her stay, Kambire has met Nepali Congress chair Gagan Thapa and President Ram Chandra Paudel, among others.
International guests expected
The Nepali Congress has invited other foreign guests to the convention. A member of Parliament from the United Kingdom’s Labour Party is likely to attend, but a final decision was still pending as of Wednesday evening.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also sent a congratulatory message for the convention.
