Four farmers, including Sanjay Bika, arrived in Galeshwar, Myagdi, on Friday evening after walking for 36 days with sheep and goats they hope to sell for Dashain.
The farmers brought around 200 animals from the Mugu and Dolpa region. Adverse weather, snowfall and blocked roads made the journey to the market extremely difficult.
Delays raise concern over sales
The farmers are worried that the long journey and delays in reaching the market could affect sales and reduce their income. Their arrival comes as they seek buyers for the livestock ahead of Dashain, when demand for sheep and goats rises.
