Rising energy prices and the cost of living are the leading concerns among people in Southeast Asia, according to a regional survey by Singapore-based Yusof Ishak Institute. The 2026 climate outlook survey found that 44.6 percent of respondents cited energy prices and living expenses as their top worry.
The findings come as countries across the region work to expand renewable energy use and reduce reliance on traditional energy sources. The survey points to the pressure that energy costs and household expenses are placing on public concerns across Southeast Asia.
