Dr D.B. Sunar Leads Dalit Open Central Member Vote in Nepali Congress Convention

Dr D.B. Sunar is leading the Nepali Congress Dalit open central member vote with 3,160 votes after 6,500 ballots were counted in the party’s 15th General Convention. Sagar Pariyar is in second place with 2,678 votes, followed by Harisharan Nepali with 2,444. Nepal Press has reported that eight central members from the Dalit cluster have been elected, including Sunar, Pariyar and Nepali.

Sunar tops the counted vote

The tally places Sunar at the front of the Dalit open central member category. He has received 3,160 votes in the count reported so far, giving him a lead over Pariyar, who has 2,678. Nepali is third among the candidates named in the reported figures, with 2,444 votes.

The figures are based on 6,500 votes counted. They provide a snapshot of the contest at that stage of the count, rather than a complete breakdown of votes for every candidate. The reported totals show the order among the three leading candidates, while the announcement of the eight elected members identifies the Dalit cluster representatives selected for the party’s central body.

Eight members announced from Dalit cluster

According to Nepal Press, the eight central members elected from the Dalit cluster are Dr. D.B. Sunar, Sagar Pariyar, Harisharan Nepali, Shiv Bahadur Sunar, Manjit Tamrakar, Raju Pariyar, Ammar Bahadur Baraili and Dipak Soni. The announcement brings together the leading candidates named in the vote tally and five additional elected members from the cluster.

The reported list covers the Dalit cluster’s central member selections in the Nepali Congress convention. Sunar’s position at the top of the counted vote, along with the reported election of all eight members, makes the result a significant outcome for this category of the party’s central membership contest.

Vote figures and result coverage

The reported count gives a clearer picture of the leading candidates’ support at the time 6,500 votes had been processed. Sunar’s 3,160 votes put him 482 votes ahead of Pariyar. Pariyar, in turn, was 234 votes ahead of Nepali. These comparisons are calculated from the figures reported for the three candidates.

The vote tally and the list of elected members have been reported by Nepali media outlets covering the convention. Nagarik News reported Sunar’s 3,160-vote tally, while Nepal Press published the names of the eight elected central members from the Dalit cluster. Together, the reports provide the vote figures for the leading candidates and the announced list of representatives from the category.

The results relate specifically to the Dalit open central member category in the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention. Sunar leads the reported count, with Pariyar and Nepali next, while Shiv Bahadur Sunar, Manjit Tamrakar, Raju Pariyar, Ammar Bahadur Baraili and Dipak Soni complete the eight-member list announced from the Dalit cluster.
