Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming entered Upper Mustang’s Lomanthang through the Korala border crossing on Saturday, leading a Chinese delegation to inspect the pass, according to Mustang Chief District Officer Ajita Sharma.
The delegation, reported to comprise around five to seven members, crossed into Nepal from the Chinese side via Korala. Sharma confirmed the ambassador’s arrival through the crossing.
Inspection at Korala
The visit focused on the Korala border crossing in Mustang. The crossing connects the area with the Chinese side, from which the delegation entered Upper Mustang.
Bilateral talks were also reported in Sintaman. No further details about the discussions were provided in the report.
