A domestically developed sugarcane harvester from China has replaced imported equipment and begun reaching international markets, reflecting the country's push to expand homegrown machinery beyond its domestic market.
The machine is produced by Luoyang Chenhan Agricultural Equipment Technology, based in Henan province in central China. Its progress marks a shift from import substitution toward wider global market expansion for Chinese-made agricultural equipment.
From import replacement to global markets
The harvester's adoption in place of imported machinery highlights the growing role of domestic manufacturers in China's agricultural equipment sector. Its entry into international markets also gives the company a presence beyond China, although details of its overseas destinations were not provided.
