The Bagmati Cleanup Campaign has entered its 700th week, marking a milestone for a drive launched fourteen years ago to clean up the river. Participants at an interaction programme in Guhyeshwari called for work to make the Bagmati suitable for bathing up to the Pashupati area.
The programme was held at the office of the High-Powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee. Lila Mani Poudel, the campaign’s chief campaigner and a former chief secretary, spoke about the drive’s progress since its launch.
