Argentina beat Benin 3-0 in an international friendly at Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, in a match organised by the Argentine Football Association as Lionel Messi's farewell game.
Messi scored once, while Nicolas Otamendi and Nico Paz also found the net for Argentina. The match marked the end of Messi's international career, more than a month after he announced his retirement from international football.

Otamendi put Argentina ahead in the 48th minute, converting from a corner taken by Messi. Messi and Paz added the other goals as Argentina completed the 3-0 win.
