A contingent of 203 Nepali peacekeepers departed for South Sudan on October 1 to serve under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). The group from Shree Narayandal Gan 16th Daffa is replacing Shree Naya Gorakh Gan 15th Daffa.
The same number of Nepali peacekeepers who completed their tour with UNMISS returned home on the same day, marking the rotation of the contingent.
Nepali contingent rotation under UNMISS
The rotation involved 203 personnel departing for South Sudan and 203 returning after completing their mission tour. The departing peacekeepers are from Shree Narayandal Gan 16th Daffa, while the returning contingent served with Shree Naya Gorakh Gan 15th Daffa.
