The government has ended the previous contract and approved a new contract to blacktop the Mangsebung–Larumba–Chisapani section within three years.
The government has approved a new contract for the 25.5-kilometre Mangsebung–Larumba–Chisapani section of the under-construction Damak–Chisapani road, after terminating the previous agreement when the contractor failed to carry out the work. A contract notice for the section has now been published, setting in motion a fresh procurement process for the road link through Ilam district.

A young man was seriously injured in a shooting by an unidentified group in Rautahat on Tuesday and was taken for treatment. Further details have not been released.
A 28-year-old man, Rakesh Yadav, was injured when an unknown group opened fire in Gadwa Tole, Gaur Municipality-4, Rautahat, on Tuesday night. He was treated at Gaur Provincial Hospital and referred to Birgunj; police have not identified the attackers.
