The Nepali Embassy in Brussels, together with the embassies of Bhutan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka, hosted the second edition of the joint tourism promotion event “From Himalayan Peaks to Coastal Shores” in Brussels on Thursday, bringing together nearly 100 participants, including representatives of the European Union and the United Nations, ambassadors and other guests. The programme also featured iconic Nepali dishes, including selroti and choila.
Four countries join in tourism promotion
The event brought Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka together under a shared tourism promotion programme. Its title, “From Himalayan Peaks to Coastal Shores,” reflected the participating countries’ varied settings and the range of destinations they sought to present. The Brussels gathering was the second edition of the initiative.
The programme was organized by the Nepali Embassy in collaboration with the three other embassies. It offered a joint platform for the countries to promote their tourism offerings to an audience in the Belgian capital. The participating missions combined their efforts for the event rather than holding separate programmes.
Nearly 100 people attended, among them representatives of the European Union and the United Nations, as well as ambassadors. Their presence brought diplomatic and international organization representatives together with other guests for the tourism-focused gathering. The event’s attendance also included people from across the Brussels diplomatic community.
Nepali cuisine features at Brussels programme
Food was part of the programme, with guests enjoying iconic Nepali dishes, including selroti and choila. Their inclusion gave attendees an opportunity to experience Nepali cuisine alongside the event’s tourism promotion. The gathering therefore presented Nepal through both its travel destinations and its food.
The second edition continued the joint format involving the four embassies. By convening representatives from Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka, the programme placed the countries’ tourism promotion within a shared event in Brussels. The title connected Himalayan destinations with coastal settings, while the participation of guests from the EU, the UN and the diplomatic community gave the gathering an international audience.
The event took place on Thursday in Brussels. Organizers brought together nearly 100 participants for the programme, with Nepali food among its highlights. The collaboration between the four embassies marked the latest edition of “From Himalayan Peaks to Coastal Shores,” a joint effort to showcase tourism from the participating countries.
